There are literally zero straightforward normal beats to build off of. They all have odd and random off time or syncopated elements which would be an insane coincidence if they actually linked up with what you’re writing. I will say that I find the pre-programmed beats to be nearly useless though. I’m an audio perfectionist with 18 years of consistently playing and writing and I am very impressed with this product in terms of sound quality, variety, and usability. It’s much better than my snoring boring amateur drum tracks from an e-kit. Installing and setting up was really easy, and programming midi drums is so much easier than I thought. The drum tones are very good and are dry enough to allow you to fine tune, mix and get the sound you’re looking for. Thank goodness I took the plunge with Addictive drums. So I was afraid to commit to drumming software and midi programming because I didn’t want inferior tones, or an onerous programming sequencing process. However, with an actual kit, I could at least get my ideas out with a simple swing of the arms and legs, and my kit’s module has really good sounds. For over s year I’ve been trying to play an electronic drum kit to get drum tracks for my songs, but I’m just not a great drummer.
